I wanted to give you a first look at what the new DBQ for 2020 will look like. Please don't be overwhelmed. We will work through this together.
Starting next Monday/Tuesday we will be doing document analysis often in our Google Meet sessions. I will do that with you to help teach the content we are finishing, as well as build your skills to prepare for the DBQ.
You can do this. If you commit to working on it and getting better, you will.
The following was done by Bill Strickland from East Grand Rapids, MI. Bill is fantastic and he explains the "new" rubric. It's really slightly adjusted and from what I'm understanding it will give you an opportunity to score for each thing you do well.
Remember, my biggest piece of advice is to write as much as you can to support your thesis/argument. Keep trying to score points, as long as they are not contradictory. Those added attempts may score, while your initial attempt might seem brilliant, it may not address the prompt, back your thesis well enough, or may not help you further your argument according to the person grading it. You will also be more likely to gain a point from the last category, Reasoning/Complexity.
